Pastor Micheal L. Jacobs, Sr. is the second child born to Elder James R. and Mary E. Jacobs and grandson to two of the original founders of Calvary Holiness Church of God, in the persons of Deacon Lester and Mother Minnie Harmon.

He has been married to Sybrena Bradley Jacobs for 34 years and they have three children, Sheq’e, Micheal Jr., and Hamilton.  They also have five grandsons, Micheal III, Zion, Jordan, PJ, and Hamilton Jr.

Elder Jacobs received salvation at an early age, and was called into the ministry under the late Bishop Hezekiah Corbitt, preaching his trial sermon November 28th, 1982.  

Ordained as Elder in August 1993, Elder Jacobs served as Assistant Pastor of Calvary Holiness Church of God in Cayce, SC under the late Bishop James C. Smith.

A graduate of Midlands Technical College, he currently works as a Certified Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist First Assistant at Providence Hospital, where he has been employed since 1980. 

He has studied at Jerusalem University College, Mount Zion-Jerusalem, Israel and is a graduate of Morris College Ministerial Extension Program.

He has served in various capacities on many committees and boards as volunteer and is a past member of the Diversity Committee at Providence Hospital.  He also serves on Eau Claire High School Improvement Council as member and Board Chair, Greater Columbia Community Relations Council as member and Board Chair, and currently Vice President of Bookert Heights Community Organization, where he also served as President for several years. 

He has received many awards for his community service; including the MLK Jr. Freedom Award, and Richland District One High School Volunteer of the Year.

Elder Jacobs’s favorite scripture is Psalm 34:1, “I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth”.
